Thalheim healing water owes its unique taste and effects to its distinctive mineral composition.
The Thalheim spring rises at a depth of 300 meters from mica schist and crystalline limestone. Its water rises to the surface under its own power, hence it is an artesian spring.
On account of its special composition, the water – technically an “alkaline acidulous water” – is entitled to the designation “medicinal water”. It is especially rich in valuable minerals, including sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, chloride, sulphate, hydrogen carbonate and, above all, lithium.
Lithium plays a special role. It is considered a natural mood enhancer with such a powerful effect that it is even used in high doses in traditional medicine. But Thalheim’s healing water doesn’t owe its unique character to lithium alone; rather, it comes down to the particular combination of its naturally occurring minerals.
